No Backup Plan!

Kevin Hall

God will always add to your life. He knows what brings you joy, but you have to follow him to get that joy! If you chase joy then you will find a dessert of despair, but if you chase God then you will get all the happiness you can ever want. We have no reason to have a backup plan,e that is giving leeway to the devil. John 9:4 We need to have a since of urgency about the ministry. Develop an appetite for the gospel. Get involved now or you may never get involved.

Get a desire for the Lord. Daily ask for his will and to lead your path. Everything is made for a purpose like fish are made to swim, birds are made to fly, Christians are made to worship God! We are here to be completely consumed with a desire to serve the Lord. Not to have a backup plan in case God doesn’t know what he is doing, because we all know that God knows everything and wants what is best for you. You need to respect your parents and your pastor, but make sure you are not letting them make your decisions for you. God is the only person that should lead your life! Use what God has given you and he will always provide for you. The older you get the harder it is to leave and serve the Lord.

It’s like a tree because you get your roots deeply rooted into America and its almost impossible to move it. Where as if you are young like a sapling it is very easy to move and adapt, the longer you wait the harder it will be on you to uproot your life.

Jeremiah 7: God’s Warning

God is telling Jeremiah that he needs to wait at the gate of the Lord’s house and tell them that they need to correct their ways. He is telling the people that are entering the temple that if they quit their sinful ways then God will help them to be able to enter into the land that was promised to their ancestors. He begins to ask them do you think God delivered you so you can go and worship false gods? God tells them if they continue in the way they are going then God will destroy them and cause them to fall. God also tells them that he has given them numerous chances to change through his word from the previous prophets, but no matter what he does they never seem to want to listen to him.

Spiritual Warfare

Quoted From: Mark Coffey

As Christians we know that we are in the middle of a daily spiritual battle. Wether to choose good or bad, sin or righteousness, love or hate. We have to choose what we are going to do with our lives and how we are going to serve our Lord on high. You know 1/200 people that say they are called to the mission field actually make it. You know the way we are going to change this world is not by quitting when it gets hard, not by putting our spiritual shields down, but by taking up your spiritual sword daily and fighting the good fight.

Ephesians 6:11-12:

Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

God wants us to put on the armor of God, that way we can stand against the schemes and slyness of the devil. If you are losing the battle here in the US, then it will only get worse when you are on the field. The Devil is trying to trap everyone in every country you cannot escape from him by going to the mission field. We need to realize who the enemy is and who our friends should be. We should not be here on this earth to fight with our fellow Christians but rather to unite with them to fight the real enemy, Satan.

2 Corinthians 11:3:

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Satan doesn’t usually attack the physical body. but the mental state. He makes you think that everyone is against you and wants to see you fail, but the truth is most of the time they really do care for you. You are just allowing Satan to get the better of you. In our Christian warfare we are usually taking aim at the wrong things, we are not taking aim against the devil.

Fellowship is a major part of the Christian life. This is a accountability and a drive that you cannot get anywhere else. You have a relationship with them and then when you leave for the mission field you get angry at them because they don’t contact you. You re letting the devil get a part of your mind, and it will only continue to spread.

Exodus 1

Joseph dies here, and the children of Israel multiply, and a new king is put in place. This king goes to take over Israel and put them into slavery. The Egyptians made them work hard and long hours. Then the king says to kill all the boys that are born. The midwives feared God and followed him.

Exodus 2

Moses was born here, and hid for three months then they put him away in a basket to the Pharos daughter. Then the mother ends up getting paid to take care of her son. Moses then grows up and sees a man beating a man from Israel and therefore he goes and kills him and buries him in the sand. Then he runs away to Midian because Pharaoh wants to kill him. Then Moses helps ladies with their flock, and then he marries one and they have children together and she became his wife. Then the king dies and Moses is told to return to Egypt.

Exodus 3

Moses is keeping the flock, and found a fiery bush, and walked to it, and talked to God. Then God tells him that he wants him to free his people. Then God tells him that he will be with him! God then tells him to say the I AM has sent me to help you and speak to you.

Daily Devotions

Job 41

God is still asking Job questions, but about Leviathan. He wants to know if he could kill him? And yet he was created by God, and God could destroy him with a word. He goes on to describe in details the Leviathan from his heart to his teeth.

Job 42

Then Job goes on to tell God that he knows God can do anything, and no thought can be hidden from God. Job then goes on to say that he will not dishonor God again like he did. Then God goes on forgiving him and saying that he is his man. The Lord ended up being blessed more at the end then what he had before his life was ruined. At the end of the chapter Job dies.

Daily Devotions

Job 38

God is talking to Job, and tells him to man up! He says where were you when I made the world, because Job was questioning him. Then God goes on to say how he made the world, and how powerful he is to show Job that he knows what he is doing.

Job 39

God is continuing to tell Job about his knowledge and power and ask him questions to show Job how powerful and intelligent God really is. He wants Job to know that God knows what he is doing, that he will provide and help Job in his time of need.

Job 40

Job then tells God that he is vile and that he is sorry for what he has done. He knows that God is all powerful and all knowing. He knows that he has no right to question God, and he apologizes to God for what he has done.

Tongues in the Bible!

When we look throughout the Bible we see tongues mentioned many times throughout the Bible, but what exactly are tongues? Well, if we see 1 Corinthians 14 we see that what most people consider tongues is utterly and totally ridiculous! It is not where people randomly start jabbering and speaking in a random “angelic” language like many people probably think. In fact it actually is just referring to another language. But even if we are talking about a fake angelic tongue then if you look at 1 Corinthians 14:27 it says..

If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret!.

We are to make sure that people are understanding what we are saying! Now a days it is becoming more and more popular to speak in “tongues”. And every time it is spoken no one understands what is being said! So that is one contradiction against the Bible. And the we have 1 Corinthians 14:19.

If you see in 1 Corinthians 14: 19 it says…

Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue

People need to understand what the Bible is saying! Why in the world would we speak in a language that no one understands? That does not make any since! The Bible commands us to go and reach the world with the gospel, and yet we think we need to go around speaking in a “heavenly” language that no one understands. We are here to reach the world with the gospel! (Mat. 28:19) Tongues is just a fancy word for languages!

Adapting for Ministry: Austin Gardner

Language Learning is NOT Easy

No matter what language you are going to learn, it is NEVER going to be easy. You are not going to magically stumble upon the language. It is going to take hard work and dedication to truly learn a language to the point where you will be able to preach and teach in that language. You will get discouraged and it will get to a point to where you want to give up, but keep pushing, because you will have to learn it no matter what to really be able to communicate and help in the ministry in that country. It doesn’t matter if you are learning Chinese or Spanish it is not going to be easy.

You are Going to Feel Alone

You are for a while going to love the country you move to, but sooner or later it just becomes home. It becomes home, and the “honeymoon” period ends and then you start to see the problems with the country. You are going to start to feel like you are all alone in the country. You don’t know the language, you can’t speak to people, and you cannot do the simplest things. This will make all of the littlest things in life one hundred times worse. It will cause strain in your relationships and may cause fighting with your spouse and family. Then you will begin to feel all alone. You need to realize that it is not going to be easy, it is not always going to be rainbows and sunshine. You need to make sure that you know there will be times that are great and special, but it will not feel like that all the time. The ministry will have its ups and downs, just don’t go with the incorrect ideas about what the ministry is.

Readings of the Week

This week I was reading Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, and it was amazing to see how people had enough faith to put their lives on the line for Christ. This should be something we should strive to have. A faith in which we are willing to sacrifice our lives to see people reached with the gospel, or to stand up for what the Bible says. This helped me this week to realize that no matter the pain or the problems I go through it is nothing in comparison to what these people suffered. Being burned alive, tortured, drowned, etc. It has helped me when sharing the gospel not to be afraid. Even though I do not know the language well, and I hope this helps you to step-out of your comfort zone and share the gospel with someone.

God Answers Prayers!

This week we had an amazing week, we had visitors in the church, and had Jeff Bush in to preach in the church. It was a blessing to be able to hear him preach and see others works being done in Argentina. Also Franco, the man I have been praying that God would help come to church, came both the morning and night services on Sunday! But there is still so much to be done here in Argentina. Please be in prayer for two guys I am talking with about the church Mariano and Miguel. They both seem interested, so please pray that the Lord gets a hold of their hearts and they come to know him as their Savior! Please pray for the ministry in Argentina and for the missionaries I am training under! They have been huge blessings and are doing the Lords work! They are great Men of God!
